About us
Moving abroad to start a new life, to make an old dream come true, that is what we, Linda & Mike (Belgians) have done!
Our first visit to the Scottish Highlands in the year 2000 was the start of our adventure. Someday we would come to work and live in this beautiful country!
Twenty years and countless trips later it is a fact; after a search of more than a year for the perfect location we were able to realise our dream in 2019 at Durnamuck, a small community which is part of Dundonnell in Wester Ross. This area has some of the best flora and fauna in the UK, and is located in the heart of the largest national nature reserve in the North-Western Highlands of Scotland better known as "The Great Wilderness" with its breath-taking landscapes.
The name came to us during a visit to this beautiful area. Surrounded by the purest serenity, we realised… when everything is quiet, the stillness is unmistakable… And so, “Sound of Durnamuck” was born.
